Troubleshooting: Lenovo Laptop stuck on Lenovo update screen
If you are experiencing the issue of your Lenovo laptop being stuck on the Lenovo update screen, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve this issue.
Perform a Forced Shutdown
- Try performing a forced shutdown by holding down the power button for 20 seconds (or until the laptop powers off).
Force Restart The Laptop
- You will need a paperclip, SIM card removal pin, pin, earring or something else similar to proceed with this step. A pen DOES NOT work.
- Close the laptop
- Unplug the power and disconnect any cables plugged into the laptop.
- Turn the laptop upside down, so that you can see the bottom of the laptop.
- Locate the one pin hole on the laptop. There are many holes on the bottom of the laptop, but there should only be one that is a tiny round pin hole.
- Under this pin hole is a reset button. Use your pin or other pointy tool to press and hold down this button for 10 seconds.
- Remove the Pin, plug in a laptop charger or docking station to the laptop and try to turn it on.
- The laptop should turn on, and get to the login screen as usual.
- If you can login as usual, this issue is resolved.
- If your issue is not resolved, please let us know.
By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to resolve the issue of your laptop being stuck on the Lenovo update screen. If the issue persists, please let us know.
